Transforming Learning to Wisdom

When we acquire information; it stays in our short-term memory (we will forget in next one hour). When we understand the application along with benefit of the information - it goes to our mid-term memory (we may remember if for a few days). When we internalize and start practicing something, it goes into our long term memory. When we refine and improve upon the internalized and practiced information; the wisdom so created becomes part of us and comes natural. Remember, this is true for both Good & Bad information processed through this cycle.

The flow can be depicted as [World Around Us] > Observation & Gathering Information > Learning Application and Benefits > Internalizing Information > Practicing > Experiencing and refining > Accumulating Wisdom > Sharing and Continuing Observing and Learning.

I do agree with you. and its echo an old saying "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."

About Me

My photo
I was born in the lap of Himalayas (Himachal Pradesh) in the home of educationalists. I grew up in an environment where asking questions was encouraged; and curiosity was considered foundation to enlightenment. I dedicate all my learning in life to those who encouraged me in my quest to “figure things out” and responded to my curiosities. Spiritual orientation helps me to accept possibilities beyond the realm of logic.
